Perm in Bangkok – Digital, Korean & Organic Perm at Niche Salon

Perm Bangkok | Digital, Korean & Organic Perm at Niche Salon Ploenchit

Perms have come a long way from the tight, over-processed curls of the 1980s. Today’s techniques — particularly digital and Korean perms — produce soft, natural-looking waves and curls that move with the hair rather than sitting stiffly on top of it.

At Niche Salon, perms are among our most popular services for both expat and local clients. Depending on what you’re going for and what your hair can handle, we offer several systems to choose from.

Types of Perms We Offer

Digital Perm (Shiseido): Uses heated rods and a professional solution to create defined, bouncy curls that look natural even when dry. Currently one of the most popular perm styles in Bangkok.

Cold Perm (Schwarzkopf): A traditional perm process using room-temperature solution. Better suited to a looser, more relaxed wave rather than a defined curl.

Korean Movement Perm: A soft, natural-looking wave with gentle volume. Particularly popular among clients who want an effortless, low-maintenance look.

C-Curl Perm: Subtle, defined end curls that add shape and movement without dramatically changing the hair’s overall look.

Organic Perm (Natulique): For clients who prefer to avoid harsh chemicals, Natulique’s organic perm system produces beautiful, long-lasting results with significantly less damage than conventional systems.

How Long Does a Perm Last?

Most perms last between 3 and 6 months. However, this varies based on your hair type, how often you wash it, and how well you care for it at home. Hair that’s already colour-treated or processed tends to hold a perm for a slightly shorter time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What perm style suits me?

The best way to answer this is to come in for a consultation. We’ll look at your hair’s current condition, natural texture, and length, then show you reference photos to narrow down the style. The type of perm that looks great on fine, straight hair is often quite different from what works best on thick, coarse hair.

Can I get a perm on coloured hair?

In many cases, yes. However, it depends on the condition of your hair and how recently it was coloured or processed. We usually don’t recommend it on previously bleached or highlighted hair. In any case, we assess your hair honestly at consultation and will tell you if it needs to recover before a perm. Rushing the process is how hair gets damaged.

Does a perm damage hair?

All chemical processes affect the hair to some degree. Nevertheless, a well-executed perm on healthy hair, using quality products, causes minimal damage. We use professional-grade systems from Shiseido and Schwarzkopf, and we always recommend an Olaplex or Kérastase treatment alongside the service to protect and strengthen the hair. Many customers ask for organic perm also when they are concerned more healthy processes, In this case we are glad to offer our organic range from Natulique Denmark.

What is the difference between a digital perm and a regular perm?

A cold perm uses room-temperature solution and produces more tight curls. A digital perm, on the other hand, uses temperature-controlled heated rods and a specialised solution to create soft and bouncy curls and defined with less effort.

Can men get perms?

Absolutely. Perm for men has become very popular, particularly Korean-inspired styles with soft waves and natural volume. We work with male clients regularly.
