Q: What is the difference between CND Shellac and regular gel nails?
Shellac is a thinner, more flexible formula that sits between a regular polish and a full gel. It lasts up to two weeks without chipping, goes on without any filing of your natural nail, and comes off with a soak rather than filing, which protects the nail underneath. It is one of the most trusted systems in professional nail care for a reason, it just works, and your nails stay healthy with regular use.
Q: How long does a manicure last at Niche Salon?
A regular polish manicure will last around five to seven days with normal wear. Shellac and gel polish last up to two weeks. A simple tip: try to avoid long soaks in water for the first 24 hours after your appointment, it helps the product bond properly and extends the wear.
Q: What nail brands do you use?
We work with CND Shellac, OPI, Kenzico, BCL Organic spa products, and Cuccio. These are all professional-grade brands used in premium salons globally. Depending on what you are looking for, maximum staying power, nail health, or a specific colour range, your technician will help you pick the right one.
Q: Do you offer nail services for men?
Yes, and quite a few of our regular clients are men. A manicure and pedicure are straightforward grooming treatments, nail shaping, cuticle care, buffing, and a clean finish. There is no polish involved unless you want it. A lot of expat professionals and business travellers come in regularly and just want neat, well-maintained hands and feet. We also have a special pedicure for runners (men & women of course).
Q: How do I remove gel nails safely if I cannot come in?
The safest way is to come in and let us do it. It takes about 15 minutes and we make sure the nail underneath is left in good condition. We usualy use a special grinder, although some gels requires the acetone process. If you genuinely cannot make it in, soak a cotton pad in acetone, press it onto the nail, wrap each finger in foil, and wait about 15 minutes. The gel should lift off gently on its own. The one thing to absolutely avoid is picking or peeling, this strips away the surface of the nail and can take weeks to recover from.
