Q: What is the difference between a Brazilian and a Hollywood wax?
A Brazilian removes most of the hair in the bikini area but leaves a small strip or shape at the front. A Hollywood removes everything, front, back, and in between, with nothing left. Both are done in a private room by a trained female therapist. We use Caronlab from Australia and Cirepil from France, which are among the most comfortable professional waxes available.
Q: How long does waxing last?
For most people, results last three to six weeks depending on how quickly their hair grows. One thing worth knowing: the more regularly you wax, the finer and slower the regrowth tends to become over time. Clients who have been coming in consistently for a year or two often find the appointments easier and the results longer-lasting.
Q: How should I prepare before a waxing appointment?
Hair needs to be at least half a centimetre long, roughly two to three weeks of growth after shaving. On the day itself, avoid tanning, exfoliating, or applying any creams to the area. Wear something loose and comfortable. If it is your first time and you are a bit nervous about discomfort, a mild over-the-counter painkiller taken about half an hour before can help.
Q: Do you offer a private room for waxing?
Yes, always. Every waxing appointment takes place in a private treatment room, and all our therapists are female. We know this matters to a lot of clients, so it is something we have always been firm about.
Q: Can I get waxed if I have sensitive skin?
Absolutely. For sensitive skin and sensitive areas, we use Cirepil hard wax, a French brand that adheres to the hair rather than the skin. This makes the process considerably more comfortable and reduces the chance of redness afterwards. Just let the therapist know about your skin before the appointment.
Q: Do you offer waxing services for men?
Yes we see male clients regularly for waxing and it is completely normal. The most popular services for men are back waxing, chest waxing, and full leg waxing, though we offer the full range including Brazilian and Hollywood for male clients as well. Everything is done in a private room by a professional female therapist who will make you feel comfortable from start to finish.
