What kind of smoothing treatment is the Keratherapy Renewal plus?
It is a 100% formaldehyde-free smoothing system with Kerabond technology that will transform your hair, leaving the hairs frizz free, shiny and manageable while giving you medium to maximum curl reduction for up to 12 weeks.
In comparison with many “so called” formaldehyde free treatments, Renewal Plus if free from formaldehyde, but also free from any kind of aldehydes, thio, or sodium hydroxide.
What is Kerabond Technology?
All Keratherapy products are created with the proprietary Kerabond Technology.
Kerabond is the process by which pure keratin is refined and enhanced, enabling it to go beyond the cuticle and penetrate deeper into the hair shaft where it bonds to the most damaged parts of the hair.
Kerabond significantly improves the strength and elasticity of the hair and ensures the highest level of smoothing and repair immediately where it’s needed most.
Is Keratherapy renewal plus permanent?
No, keratin treatment is not a permanent treatment as it does not break the bonds of the hair.
Hairs will revert to its natural texture as the treatment eventually leaves the hair.
How long does it take for a complete service?
The length of the service can take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours depending on the length and thickness of the hair.
How long will the treatment last?
The treatment will last up to 3 months with the recommended aftercare, and depending on life habits. Swimming pool, sea bath, or shampoo with sulfate can alter the keratin in the hairs and reduce the longevity of the treatment.
Note that the keratin treatment is not a straightening.
Real Keratin treatment is a smoothing treatment, that helps with frizz reduction, smooth, shine and manageability. It helps the hairs to recover, being healthier, and more beautiful.
Some clients may be confused, as some “so called” keratin treatment use formaldehyde and other chemicals to act as a coating on the hairs, giving a straight result.

We recommend waiting at least 8 weeks before having another treatment applied.

We recommend to wait 1 week minimum after the service to process the hair color.
Can we perform the Keratherapy Renewal plus Treatment on previously chemically treated hair, (ex. Color, highlights, relaxer, Japanese straightening)?
Yes. Keratherapy Renewal Plus Treatment can be applied to any type of hair colored or highlighted.
We will always analyze the hair and conduct a thorough consultation to determine the porosity of the hair and that it can withstand the high heat of the flat iron.
If hair is damaged to the point it cannot take the heat of the iron, we will not perform the service.
After a Japanese straightening, we recommend to wait 12 weeks.
